In The Beginning...
In 1997, two newly established independent Engineer Surveyors in the process of developing their own statutory plant inspection portfolios, met to discuss a range of technical and resourcing issues surrounding statutory compliance thorough examination & testing of engineering plant and equipment.
These Guys first arranged a series of informal meetings, and offered invitations nationally, to anyone operating independently, providing the same, or equivalent professional engineering inspection services in their market, hoping to generate some interest in expanding the group. Very quickly they realized the huge benefits of sharing technical information and inspection resources with other independent Engineer Surveyors who had been brave enough to venture out on their own.
Within a year of their first meeting, a group of six independent inspection businesses formally established INITA (Independent National Inspection & Testing Association) in 1998, and invited carefully selected other professionally qualified and properly insured independent Engineer Surveyors operating in the same market to join. From this point INITA really started to grow.
